Every realm has clueless denizens of whom it is wondered if they live under rocks, but in the great underwater city, some clearly literally do. So it was to the shouting and swishing of multitudes in the streets that they emerged, and feared the riots had already begun. But... no! These were happy grins, that was drunken singing, those were exultant cries of REBMA! And MARTIN! What happened? From whence came this strange reversal, in the space of one night and day?
A.. duel? It was said that Prince Corwin attended the session of Court called by Martin to address the issue of the Princess' decreed removal to Banyan, whereupon the Regent informed the former Amberite King that he could take their agreement and shove it. That the Regent had.. for love of his subjects.. changed his mind. This demonstration of enlightened rule had infuriated the Ruler of Banyan, and his evil black sword crossed with the silver blade of Tir as Martin swore to defend the will of the Rebman People...
But, ah - the bard in that tavern there witnessed the bloody battle that tore up and down the Deep Throne Room, with many a mocking snark passed between combatants. One had best go listen to his faithful retelling of the epic fight that saw Corwin fleeing with one arm nearly hacked off, and Martin standing in victory with Miriam of Tir at his side. No children allowed, though, for this version's got some smut. Princess Fiona was heard to say there was 'penis might in their swords'! And who could deny that?

In Rebma, rumors are circulating that with the aid of a team headed by a member of House Morfilod the hostages have been rescued from the Dragon Queen. It is rumored that The Ghost City was also released from the clutches of a necromantic cult, and the kidnapped Rebmans will be coming home soon. No officials are saying anything about the status of the hostages or where they presently are. The children of Rebma still remain safe in the Palace for now. The High Physician, an Ygrayne, took a few members of his crew to go look to the welfare of the hostages. People are starting to wonder if the threat is gone now and have resumed moving about in the city. Many would like to take their children home. The High Priestess of Lir, Dryssana Morfilod assured all that the Regent will surely allow the children to return home when it is safe. She also stated that Rebma should pray to Lir to give Martin guidance and strength during this difficult time. Morfilod is deeply proud that one of their own was involved in such a daring event. She also encourages that thanks be given to all who were involved as Lir saw fit to ensure their mission a success.

Title: Lately, a Surrender

A bounty-hunting chase that began almost two months past in Begman waters, is said to have concluded in Amber this week, with the formal surrender of the outlaw, Pirate Captain Merrisol, wanted amongst other things for hijacking a steam-powered vessel out on a test voyage, to the contracted hunter, Captain Flame.
The actual details get sketchy after that, but gossips in Amber tell of how the pirate hid in plain sight, behind an assumed identity or, as others claim, a lack of identity. Influxes of victims suffering traumatic amnesia from the forests of Arden are not uncommon in Amber's recent history, and it makes sense for a criminal on the run to attempt to cloak himself in anonymous victimhood. They say Merrisol's fatal flaw was vanity, and his inability to discard his memorable red coat was his undoing as the Sea Queen huntress exposed him at sword point... although not before the scoundrel had already besmirched the reputations of several fine ladies about town.
The question now is what, if anything, is being done to bring the outlaw up on formal charges, so he might stand trial for acts of piracy against realms of the Golden Circle, at least one of which is sure to stick. The arresting agent, dubbed Captain Flame for her numerous fiery qualities, is said to have sequestered the rogue on her ship. Conflicting rumours claim she has no ship to speak of and the crimson-frocked pirate continues to roam the streets freely.
The family of the Begman engineer who disappeared along with the stolen vessel have not yet spoken up about this newest development. Come to think of it, the mother and son have not been seen about Begma society for about a month now.
